3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Contact Form: When you contact us through the Site, we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message.
- Doctor’s Referral Tool: When you use our test-matching tool, we collect the test names or abbreviations you enter in order to display matching information. This information is processed to generate results and is not stored against your identity unless you separately contact us.
- Home Visit and WhatsApp Requests: If you request a home sample collection or send us a doctor’s referral through WhatsApp, we collect your name, phone number, your location or address, and — where you choose to share it — a photograph of your doctor’s order. This information is sent and received through WhatsApp, a messaging platform operated by Meta Platforms, Inc., which is outside TrustLife’s direct control once transmitted. See Section 5 below.
3.2 Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, the Site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the Site. This may collect your IP address, device and browser type, approximate location, pages visited, and similar usage data through cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for details on the specific cookies used and how to control them.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information described above to: respond to questions submitted through the contact form; coordinate and confirm home sample collection visits; help you identify tests corresponding to a doctor’s referral; understand and improve how the Site is used; and comply with applicable legal obligations.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:
- WhatsApp (Meta Platforms, Inc.): Messages you send us through WhatsApp — including any personal or health-related information such as a photograph of a doctor’s order — are transmitted and stored through WhatsApp’s infrastructure, subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy policy and terms. TrustLife does not control how WhatsApp itself processes or secures that data in transit.
- Google Analytics (Google LLC): Automatically collected usage data is processed by Google in accordance with Google’s privacy policy.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information where required to do so by Belizean law or in response to a valid legal request.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, including to respond to your inquiry, coordinate your requested visit, or comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. Analytics data is retained in accordance with Google Analytics’ standard retention settings.
7. Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the personal information we hold from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. However, no online transmission or storage system — including WhatsApp — can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
8. Your Rights Under the Data Protection Act, 2021
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to: request access to the personal information we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of your information; object to or restrict certain processing; and request portability of your information. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 12. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belize Data Protection Authority.
9. Cookies
The Site uses cookies, primarily for analytics purposes. Full details of the cookies used, their purpose, and how to manage them are set out in our Cookie Policy.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Site. Where a parent or guardian submits information on behalf of a minor in connection with laboratory services, that submission is made by the parent or guardian.
11. Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites or services (including WhatsApp and Google). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
